CBIC Awards – Descriptions & Selection Processes

For 12 years running, the CBIC Awards (formerly the VPTC Tech Awards) have honored individuals and organizations for noteworthy contributions to the marketplace and community involving entrepreneurship and the creation, commercialization, or application of technology.

The selection process for the Breakthrough, Community, Red Apple, Rocket, and Spotlight Awards involves rigorous research by a panel of judges who bring diverse expertise and a shared commitment to recognizing and advancing technology and innovation in the Central Virginia region. The People's Choice Navigator Award honoree is determined via community-wide, online voting. The CBIC Leadership Award honoree is decided by the CBIC Chair with input from the Board of Directors.
